# What is ALIENX？

It is precisely because the ALIENX team saw the above challenges and opportunities in the traditional AI and the current Web3.0 industry, so ALIENX’s vision came out: to combine the blockchain infrastructure with AI and built for NFT and Game mass adoption in the AI era.

# ALIENX Protocol

# Inside ALIENX

ALIENX is a variant of Arbitrum Nitro technology that lowers costs by accepting a mild trust assumption.AlienX, a variation of Arbitrum Nitro technology, reduces costs by relying on a slight trust assumption. Unlike the Arbitrum protocol, where all nodes, including validators, need access to L2 transaction data, AlienX employs an external Data Availability Committee ("the Committee") to store and provide data upon request. The Committee consists of N members, with AlienX assuming the honesty of at least two. This ensures that even if N-1 Committee members pledge to provide access to certain data, at least one honest member will fulfill the promise. Thus, the chain can operate effectively with the assurance that necessary data will be available when required.

## *Keysets*

A Keyset serves as a specification for Committee members' public keys and the requisite number of signatures for validating a Data Availability Certificate. This framework enables seamless modifications to Committee membership and facilitates key updates for its members.Each Keyset encompasses:

* The total count of Committee members,
* A BLS public key for each member, and
* The necessary number of Committee signatures.

Keysets are uniquely identified by their hashes. The L1 Keyset Manager contract maintains a record of currently valid Keysets, which can be modified by the Owner of the L2 chain. Upon validation, the KeysetManager contract emits an L1 Ethereum event containing the hash and complete details of the Keyset, ensuring accessibility for future reference based solely on the Keyset hash.While the API places no restrictions on concurrent Keysets, typically, only one Keyset is active at any given time.

## *Data Availability Certificates*

A central concept in ALIENX is the Data Availability Certificate (hereafter, a "DACert"). A DACert contains:

* the hash of a data block, and
* an expiration time, and
* proof that N-1 Committee members have signed the (hash, expiration time) pair, consisting of
  * the hash of the Keyset used in signing, and
  * a bitmap saying which Committee members signed, and
  * a BLS aggregated signature (over the BLS12-381 curve) proving that those parties signed.

Because of the 2-of-N trust assumption, a DACert constitutes proof that the block's data (i.e., the preimage of the hash in the DACert) will be available from at least one honest Committee member, at least until the expiration time.

In ordinary (non-AlienX) Nitro, the Arbitrum sequencer posts data blocks on the L1 chain as calldata. The hashes of the data blocks are committed by the L1 Inbox contract, allowing the data to be reliably read by L2 code.

ALIENX gives the sequencer two ways to post a data block on L1: it can post the full data as above, or it can post a DACert proving availability of the data. The L1 inbox contract will reject any DACert that uses an invalid Keyset; the other aspects of DACert validity are checked by L2 code.

The L2 code that reads data from the inbox reads a full-data block as in ordinary Nitro. If it sees a DACert instead, it checks the validity of the DACert, with reference to the Keyset specified by the DACert (which is known to be valid because the L1 Inbox verified that). The L2 code verifies that

* The number of signers is at least the number required by the Keyset, and
* The aggregated signature is valid for the claimed signers, and
* The expiration time is at least two weeks after the current L2 timestamp.

If the DACert is invalid, the L2 code discards the DACert and moves on to the next data block. If the DACert is valid, the L2 code reads the data block, which is guaranteed to be available because the DACert is valid.

## *Data Availability Servers*

Committee members are responsible for operating the Data Availability Server (DAS) software, which provides two distinct APIs:

* The Sequencer API is exclusively accessible to the AlienX chain's Sequencer and facilitates the submission of data blocks to the DAS for storage via a JSON-RPC interface. Typically, access to this API is restricted to the Sequencer to maintain security.
* The REST API, on the other hand, is intended for global accessibility and operates through a RESTful HTTP(S) protocol. This API allows data blocks to be retrieved by hash and is designed to be fully cacheable. Deployments often employ caching proxies or CDNs to enhance scalability and defend against DoS attacks.

Committee members have a vested interest in supporting the Sequencer API, while the REST API is intended for wider use. The flexibility of the DAS software allows for various storage configurations, including local files, Badger databases, Amazon S3, or redundant storage across multiple platforms. Additionally, optional caching mechanisms, such as memory-based caching using Bigcache or a Redis instance, further enhance performance and efficiency.

## *Sequencer-Committee Interaction*

When the AlienX sequencer produces a data batch that it wants to post using the Committee, it sends the batch's data, along with an expiration time (normally three weeks in the future) via RPC to all Committee members in parallel. Each Committee member stores the data in its backing store, indexed by the data's hash. Then the member signs the (hash, expiration time) pair using its BLS key, and returns the signature with a success indicator to the sequencer.

Once the Sequencer has collected enough signatures, it can aggregate the signatures and create a valid DACert for the (hash, expiration time) pair. The Sequencer then posts that DACert to the L1 inbox contract, making it available to the AlienX chain software at L2.

If the Sequencer fails to collect enough signatures within a few minutes, it will abandon the attempt to use the Committee, and will "fall back to rollup" by posting the full data directly to the L1 chain, as it would do in a non-AlienX chain. The L2 software can understand both data posting formats (via DACert or via full data) and will handle each one correctly.


# Gas Fees

There are two parties a user pays for when submitting a transaction:

* The poster, if reimbursable, for L1 resources such as the L1 calldata needed to post the tx
* The network fee accounts for L2 resources, which include computation, storage, and other burdens L2 nodes must bare to service the tx

The L1 component is the product of the transaction's estimated contribution to its batch's size — computed using Brotli on the transaction by itself — and the L2's view of the L1 data price, a value which dynamically adjusts over time to ensure the batch-poster is ultimately fairly compensated. For details, see [L1 Pricing](https://docs.arbitrum.io/arbos/l1-pricing).

The L2 component consists of the traditional fees Geth would pay to stakers in a vanilla L1 chain, such as the computation and storage charges applying the state transition function entails. ArbOS charges additional fees for executing its L2-specific [precompiles](https://docs.arbitrum.io/build-decentralized-apps/precompiles/overview), whose fees are dynamically priced according to the specific resources used while executing the call.

## *Gas Price Floor*

The L2 gas price on a given AlienX chain has a set floor, which can be queried via [ArbGasInfo](https://docs.arbitrum.io/build-decentralized-apps/precompiles/reference#arbgasinfo)'s `getMinimumGasPrice` method (currently 0.01 gwei on AlienX).

## *Estimating Gas*

Calling an AlienX Node's `eth_estimateGas` RPC gives a value sufficient to cover the full transaction fee at the given L2 gas price; i.e., the value returned from `eth_estimateGas` multiplied by the L2 gas price tells you how much total Ether is required for the transaction to succeed. Note that this means that for a given operation, the value returned by `eth_estimateGas` will change over time (as the L1 calldata price fluctuates.)

## *Tips in L2*

The sequencer prioritizes transactions on a first-come first-served basis. Because tips do not make sense in this model, they are ignored. AlienX users always just pay the base fee regardless of the tip they choose.

## ***Gas Estimating Retriable***

When a transaction schedules another, the subsequent transaction's execution [will be included](https://github.com/OffchainLabs/go-ethereum/blob/d52739e6d54f2ea06146fdc44947af3488b89082/internal/ethapi/api.go#L999) when estimating gas via the node's RPC. A transaction's gas estimate, then, can only be found if all the transactions succeed at a given gas limit. This is especially important when working with retryables and scheduling redeem attempts.

Because a call to [`redeem`](https://docs.arbitrum.io/build-decentralized-apps/precompiles/reference#arbretryabletx) donates all of the call's gas, doing multiple tasks requires limiting the amount of gas provided to each subcall. Otherwise, the first will take all of the gas and force the second to necessarily fail irrespective of the estimation's gas limit.

Gas estimation for Retryable submissions is possible via the [NodeInterface](https://docs.arbitrum.io/build-decentralized-apps/nodeinterface/reference) and similarly requires the auto-redeem attempt to succeed.

# Tokenomics

## ***Token Utility***

* Gas fee sharing: ALIENX Chain’s Gas will be distributed to users who stake $AIX tokens.
* $AIX staking users can share part of the revenue generated by the AI services provided by ALIENX Chain.
* $AIX will be the payment token for various ecological projects to use ALIENX AI services.
* Staked $AIX will manage the entire ALIENX Chain infrastructure together with AI node users.

## ***Token Distribution***

AIX is the governance token of the ALIENX network and ecosystem, and will play a significant role in building the network effect of ALIENX. As the utility token and AI Node reward of the ALIENX network, $AIX will promote network transactions. The initial circulation supply of $AIX is 125,000,000 (12.5%), of which 98.8 million (9.88%) will be allocated to ALIENX AI Nodes and ecosystem users for airdrops, and 2.62% will be used for liquidity, marketing and ecosystem incentives.

## ***Deploying Your Smart Contract***

Once you have written your Smart Contract in Remix, you can navigate to the sidebar option to Compile your contract.

1. Change the top **ENVIRONMENT** dropdown from "**Javascript**" to "**Injected Web3**"
2. This will take you to MetaMask - Press connect in Metamask to allow Remix access.
3. Add your network to Metamask using these parameters from Hal:

   * Network Name: Hal
   * New RPC URL: <https://hal-rpc.alienxchain.io/http>
   * Chain ID: 10241025
   * Currency Symbol: ETH

Users can run nodes through computers or mobile devices. As long as the device is connected to the Internet and supports the use of chrome plug-ins. For users who do not have device to run nodes, we will design a delegate mining mechanism. If users are unable to run nodes by themselves, they can delegate their nodes to other full nodes.&#x20;

# Node Pre-Book

**Pre-book**

&#x20;**(Besides the rules on Pre-Book page, and use 0.01 ETH as example in all below contents):**&#x20;

**1. In one transaction, no matter how much the user deposit (more than 0.01 ETH), only one double-refund chance will be calculated.**&#x20;

**Example:** Sasha deposited 0.03ETH and then 0.05ETH, then system will count as 2 double-refund chances, not 8.&#x20;

This means users should only deposit 0.01ETH in one transaction. So if Sasha wants to purchase 8 nodes, he should deposit 8 times with 0.01 ETH each time.

**2. If the user don't purchase any nodes in the end, the 0.01 ETH will be refunded without being doubled**&#x20;

**Example:** Sasha deposited 0.01ETH and got one double-refund chance, but he didn't purchase any nodes during the sale, then he will be refunded with the 0.01ETH he deposited.

**3. If the user purchased less nodes than the double-refund chances, the remaining pre-book ETH will be refunded without being doubled.**&#x20;

**Example:** Sasha deposited 0.01x8=0.08 ETH, 8 transactions in total, but he only purchased 6 nodes, then he will be refunded with 6x0.01x2+2x0.01=0.14ETH
